EP president, group leaders coming to Lithuania

VILNIUS, May 29, BNS – European Parliament (EP) President Martin Schulz and leaders of EP groups are coming to Lithuania on a two-day visit on Thursday.
They are scheduled to attend a meeting of EP presidents, meet with Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite, heads and members of the government and the Seimas, as well as opening of the House of Europe, the EP bureau in Lithuania said.
The meeting of EP presidents is held in Vilnius in the run-up to Lithuania's presidency over the European Union (EU) Council.
The EP delegation in Lithuania will include chairman of the European People's Party Joseph Daul, Vice-Chairman of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Enrique Guerrero Salom, Liberal and Democratic Alliance leader Guy Verhofstadt, Vice-Chairperson of the Greens Group Jill Evans, Chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group Martin Callanan, Vice-Chairman of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy Group Rolandas Paksas, Chairperson of the Confederal Group of the European United Left Gabriele Zimmer and MEP Francisco Sosa Wagner representing MEPs who are not affiliated with any groups.
The guests are planned to participate in live debates on the national television LRT.
Lithuania will take over EU Council presidency for six months on July 1.
