The recent spikes in gas and electricity prices have revealed the true nature of market based policy solutions, enabling corporate greed to emerge with all its might, putting climate and social justice at risk. Soaring energy prices have left people and families throughout Europe with record energy bills with national governments putting in place short term measures which fail to resolve the root causes of the problem.

The Left in the European Parliament warmly invites you to join a panel discussion with MEPs and representatives of civil society organisations to discuss and identify a roadmap towards a just and sustainable energy model, with the participation of:

MEP Cornelia Ernst, Die Linke (Germany)
MEP Marisa Matias, Bloco da Esquerda (Portugal)
MEP Sira Rego, Izquierda Unida (Spain)

Martha Myers, Friends of the Earth Europe & member of the Right to Energy Coalition
Tara Connolly, Global Witness

The event will take place on Friday the 11th of February 2022, 9.30 -11.00.
