Priorities of the Polish Council Presidency
Debate: Tuesday
Vote: Aucun
Unfortunately, the Polish Presidency’s work programme once again prioritises security and immigration issues, while ignoring environmental and social emergencies. As far as our group is concerned, the central battle to be waged in the coming weeks remains preventing the signing of the free trade agreement with Mercosur, which will put all our farmers at risk. We will also continue to draw attention to the constant erosion of women’s rights throughout Europe. We must stand with Polish feminist organisations to demand that the right to abortion is finally restored in Poland, where the liberal government has so far failed to reverse the ban imposed by the far right.

Elon Musk and need to enforce the Digital Services Act
Debate: Tuesday
Vote: Aucun
A small handful of players are controlling the digital market. Now the EU needs to ensure that this economic power does not translate into political power. The Digital Services Act must be applied assertively, not timidly. The introduction of substantial sanctions - up to 5% of global turnover under the DSA - would make even the likes of Elon Musk think twice.

Ceasefire in Gaza
Debate: Monday
Vote: Aucun
We welcome the long overdue ceasefire deal and remain committed to delivering peace and justice for Palestine. This week, we must challenge the EU to take stronger measures to ensure the anti-UNRWA Knesset laws don’t come into effect and will be pressing for the release of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya. We must now work collectively to uphold international law and fight for a free Palestine.

Trump’s military and economic threats against Denmark and Greenland
Debate: Aucun
Vote: Aucun
The EU should not remain silent in response to Trump’s threats against both Denmark and Greenland. That being said, everyone should remember one key thing: the only people to decide on the future of Greenland should be the Greenlanders themselves. Not Trump, not the EU and not Denmark - but the people of Greenland alone.

Stepping up international action to protect whales following Iceland’s decision to extend commercial whaling
Debate: Wednesday
Vote: Aucun
I strongly condemn Iceland’s decision to extend commercial whaling, a cruel and outdated practice that endangers already vulnerable species. Protecting marine species is a moral and ecological imperative. Europe must step up its efforts to put an end to these unacceptable practices once and for all.

Heat record year 2024 - the need for climate action to fight global warming
Debate: Monday
Vote: Aucun
The warmest year recorded in history is another critical warning that this is not the time to delay climate action. Science is clear that we have to do more to limit climate change and one of the most effective ways to do so is a drastic reduction of the livestock industry, which slaughters billions of animals per year, at the expense of animals, the environment and our climate.
