According to ACN: A group of 21 Euro-MPs sent a setter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, in which they express their concern about the case of the five Cuban antiterrorists condemned in the United States in 1998. The senders of the letter are members of the Confederal Group of European Unitary Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE-NGL), headed by its president, German Gabriele Zimmer (of Die Linke), and the coordinator for foreign affairs, Spaniard Willy Meyer (of United Left), the Granma newspaper reported. The members of the European Parliament (EP) sent the letter on the case of Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labaino, Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez -known internationally as The Five- coinciding with Kerry’s visit to Brussels this week.
With the letter, Euro-parliamentarians from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, the Czech Republic, France, Cyprus, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands call to urgently solve a process that has extended 14 years, since they were arrested for preventing violent acts against. In the text, they denounce the hard conditions of imprisonment of these five men and the violations of their rights, among them the denial of entry visas to some of their relatives to visit them, as well as the numerous juridical irregularities that have taken place in their case.
