Eight GUE/NGL MEPs will take part in the World Social Forum in Tunis, Tunisia, which begins tomorrow.

The World Social Forum, which runs from 24-28 March, is a space for democratic debate and workshops with social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organisations that are opposed to the dominant neoliberal ideology. The aim is to share experiences, ideas, and build an agenda for future action with international social movements on issues such as global and environmental justice, migration, workers' rights, and EU foreign policy.

As part of the World Social Forum, GUE/NGL has co-organised a World Parliamentary Forum which will take place on Thursday 26th March. Elected representatives from across the globe will discuss how to tackle 'debtocracies', how to struggle against the power and impunity of transnational corporations, and how to build joint actions for peace.

Participating GUE/NGL MEPs:
Gabi Zimmer GUE/NGL President (Die Linke)
Marie-Christine Vergiat (Front de Gauche)
Eleonora Forenza (L’Altra Europa con Tsipras)
Paloma Lopez (Izquierda Unida-Izquierda Plural)
Lola Sánchez (Podemos)
Helmut Scholz (Die Linke)
Stelios Kouloglou (Syriza)
