Jean-Claude Juncker has had extraordinarily long tenures in some of the most important EU jobs over many years.

He was Luxembourg’s Prime Minister for 18 years until 2013, and its finance minister for 20. He was also president of the Eurogroup of finance ministers for eight years (2005-2013), and has been the European Commission President since 2014.

A pivotal player in so many EU treaty negotiations, summits, neoliberal decision-making processes, and anti-democratic moments and crises over the past 25 years.
