The Left sent an open letter to the President of the European Commission calling for the rejection of the EU-Mercosur agreement.

The EU-Mercosur deal is a disaster from a social, ecological, sanitary and democratic perspective. It is still time for the EU Commission to acknowledge it and seek other forms of trade cooperation with Mercosur countries.

The Left therefore calls on Ursula Von der Leyen to abandon the conclusion of this agreement without further delay.

This letter, initiated by Manon Aubry, Member of the European Parliament (La France Insoumise), 1st Vice-President of the committee on international trade and Co-Chair of The Left group in the European Parliament, has received the support from 137 MEPs and MPs across 13 European countries.
