European Parliament – Brussels
Room SPINELLI 1G2

Join us for a timely event focused on the growing energy crisis in the EU. This crisis has led to increasing energy poverty and scarcity of essential goods, affecting households and SMEs. Inflation rates and unequal energy access further compound the situation, pushing people into poverty. Moreover, in alignment with the EU’s target of reducing gas emissions by 55% by 2030, the implementation of new taxes on pollutants is planned from 2023. This event will delve into these upcoming policies and discuss their potential impact on addressing the energy crisis. We must come together to discuss proposals and learn from measures already implemented in European countries to confront high energy prices.

The event will provide a platform to exchange views and ideas on how to address the energy crisis effectively. By drawing on the experiences of various European countries, we can leverage their successful strategies and initiatives. From taxing windfall profits of energy companies to reducing VAT on electricity, we will explore actionable solutions that can be implemented to alleviate the crisis and promote equal access to energy.

Your participation is crucial in shaping a sustainable energy future. Join us to contribute to the conversation and be part of the collective effort to find innovative and impactful solutions. Together, we can make a difference and combat the energy crisis that affects us all.
