The Left in the European Parliament will be in Madrid, Spain, between 10 -12 October for its Study Days, a series of events and meetings with Spanish government officials, civil society organisations and trade unions.

At this critical moment in Spanish politics, Left MEPs will engage in discussions with their Spanish counterparts to take stock of the achievements of the progressive coalition government, which has pursued an agenda that prioritises inclusivity, equality, and environmental responsibility.

These accomplishments show what cooperation and unity among left forces can achieve. From advancing workers’ rights to implementing ambitious climate action policies while trailblazing a feminist agenda, Spain’s coalition government has demonstrated the potential for tangible, yet radical, change. These positive strides resonate and run in parallel with many legislative proposals driven by The Left in the European Parliament, from EU accession to the Istanbul Convention, to the directive on platform workers.

Looking forward to the 2024 elections, The Left in Spain and across Europe stand united on common feminist and anti-fascist principles, radical calls for climate justice and the defence of workers’ rights.
