GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer has denounced today's deadly terrorist attack at the Bardo Museum, next to the parliament building, in Tunis.

Gabi Zimmer said: “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this attempt on the lives of innocent people. We are deeply horrified at the news of yet another terrorist attack and express our sincere condolences, solidarity and support to the families of the victims.”

She continued: “The people of Tunisia have to stand together in this critical situation to safeguard the democratic achievements gained after its revolution and not to give up because of  this cold-blooded violence which aims to weaken its transition towards a stronger democracy.”
