GUE/NGL has denounced the attempts by the current regime to ban the Communist Party of Ukraine (KPU) in view of the fraudulent trial that is due to take place in Kiev today.

The attempt to prohibit the KPU is contrary to the principles of international law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

GUE/NGL is highly concerned by the continuous and violent persecution of the Party led by the ultra-right and fascist forces.

We hereby stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and in particular with the KPU until its final vindication.
