Following the attack in which a stolen truck ran into a shop killing several people in Stockholm this afternoon, GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer states on behalf of the group:

“It is extremely saddening to see yet another attack on people who are going about their everyday lives. Our solidarity is with the victims, their families and the people of Stockholm at this tragic time. We hope that those responsible for the attack will be found and brought to justice promptly. To prevent future attacks, we also urge for policies and programmes based on social inclusion to help troubled people before they commit barbaric crimes.”
