A delegation of GUE/NGL MEPs has gathered in Istanbul for a special two-day meeting.

GUE/NGL MEP Takis Hadjigeorgiou is chairing a seminar this morning on the Turkish-Kurdish peace process.

This afternoon the theme is fundamental freedoms and rights in Turkey, with GUE/NGL MEP Marie-Christine Vergiat chairing a seminar focused on human rights and GUE/NGL MEP Paul Murphy chairing a seminar on workers' rights.

Tomorrow, GUE/NGL MEP Søren Søndergaard will chair a seminar on political perspectives for left parties in Turkey and cooperation with GUE/NGL.

Pelin Yilmz, Spokeswoman of the BDP Women Assembly, İpek Kırancı, from Istanbul LGBTT Association, Arzu Çerkezoğlu, General Secretary of DISK Workers Union, and Rıdvan Turan, President of the SDP (Socialist Democracy Party), are just a few of the guest speakers who will join GUE/NGL MEPs at the event in the Hotel Holiday Inn City.
