The GUE/NGL group in the European Parliament has decided to send two delegations to Greece to meet representatives of civil society for discussions on the Fiscal Compact as well as the austerity measures that are hitting the Greek people.

The first delegation will meet with representatives of trade unions and representatives of the health care sector including doctors, nurses and social workers.

The second delegation, which will be in Athens from Thursday to Sunday next week, will have meetings with economic actors for an exchange of views on debt and the economic situation in Greece.
