GUE/NGL President sends message of sympathy on death of Pietro Ingrao

“It is with deep sorrow that we learn of the death of Comrade Pietro Ingrao. On behalf of the GUE/NGL Group I want to express our condolences to the family and our Italian comrades.

Ingrao was a protagonist of Italian history. Driven by a great passion for politics, we remember his humanity, his intellectual stature and his openness to other cultures. He was able to explore new ways of research without ever abandoning the ideals of social transformation to which he devoted his life. He is an example that can and must inspire those who continue to fight for another world.”
