GUE/NGL speaks out against the killing of stray dogs in Romania
GUE/NGL MEP Stefan Eck is leading calls from GUE/NGL MEPs to stop the massacre of stray dogs in Romania.
The Group has sent an official letter to the Government of Romania and the Mayor of Bucharest demanding the immediate end to the killing of dogs.
It is the first time that a group in the European Parliament has criticised the approach of the Romanian Government in terms of population reduction of stray dogs.
On 27 September, MEP Stefan Eck will participate in a mass demonstration against the killing of dogs in Bucharest and meet Romanian politicians to convey GUE/NGL's concerns over the mass killings.
