“Our Group is united in our opposition to Juncker since we did not vote for him as Commission President,” comments GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer. “Our criticism of Mr Juncker remains. His reaction to this scandal has been disappointing as he did not assume any responsibility for his actions as former prime minister of Luxemburg and a member of the European Council. That's just not good enough.”

Today the EFDD group with their far-right signatures failed to gain a majority in the EP for their motion of censure.

“Now we call for the creation of a parliamentary committee of inquiry on taxation, as well as a proper investigation into tax rulings in several EU member states. The real scandal is that corporate tax avoidance is for the most part legal in the EU, causing a competition for tax dodging between the member states. This proves that the fight against tax theft must directly address the EU's flawed architecture.”
