The EU must change its course and give safe passage to refugees!
After the release of #SeaWatch3captain #CarolaRakete, Search and Rescue NGOs docked their boats in the European Parliament to protest the criminalisation of their work saving lives in the Mediterranean. Open Arms’ Head of Mission @Ani_vegan told journalists that the EU is failing in its human rights obligations and making Search and Rescue efforts very difficult.
They made 3 demands to MEPs:
1) Stop the criminalisation of NGOs;
2) EU must put saving lives above politics;
3) Implement civil search & rescue in the Central Mediterranean
