Our condolences go to the loved ones of our comrade, friend, and former MEP Curzio Maltese. 

Someone who will be greatly missed in Italy and internationally, it was with great sadness that we learned of his passing.

The Left remembers Curzio particularly as a staunch defender of culture and education for all and an insightful commentator and journalist with a commitment to building a more just Europe and world.

It was a privilege to count Curzio among our members from the moment he joined us in 2014.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
