Commission President-elect of the College of Commissioners and its programme
Debate: Wednesday
Vote: Wednesday
The evaluation of the College of Commissioners has been a sham from start to finish. The European Parliament was unable to properly assess conflicts of interest, and the committee evaluations of the Commissioners’ qualifications were pointless since their fate was solely determined by agreements between the major political groups. The organisation was disastrous, with evaluation sessions postponed in violation of the Rules of Procedure, only for MEPs to be notified an hour before their occurrence. As a result, next week will see the appointment of the most right-wing Commission in history, the fruit of shady backroom deals between the major groups in the European Parliament, which have once again set aside their values, trampled on democracy, and further undermined the credibility of the Parliament.

Commission President-elect of the College of Commissioners and its programme
Debate: Wednesday
Vote: Wednesday
Socialists, Liberals, Conservatives, and the Right are striking backroom deals to protect their positions. If the S&D throws its support behind Meloni’s confidant and post-fascist Fitto, then they are truly beyond redemption. Once again, they’re abandoning their principles to chase power, instead of standing firm and advocating for honest politics. This farce is causing serious harm to European democracy!

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Debate: Monday
Vote: Aucun
What is violence against women is that the EU as such, as well as many Member States, don´t have a definition on rape based on lack of consent. We need a European Union that really defends our rights, and that says loud and clear that only yes means yes. We want lifes free of violence for all women!

Recent legislation targeting LGBTQI persons and the need for protecting the rule of law and a discrimination-free Union
Debate: Wednesday
Vote: Aucun
From Bulgaria to Hungary and Italy, rainbow families and the LGBTQI community face discrimination under laws that defy European values and treaties. This cannot continue. A stronger response is essential. The EU must protect the equality and freedoms of all its citizens, even if it means invoking Article 7 of the Treaty to suspend the voting rights of member states violating these principles.

International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People
Debate: Aucun
Vote: Aucun
International law and human rights must be applied consistently everywhere. The failure of the EU to hold Israel accountable for its genocidal actions in Gaza represents a profound moral failure. The diplomatic cover provided by European leaders must end. No more double standards. Suspend the Association Agreement and sanction Israel now!

GMO objections
Debate: Aucun
Vote: Tuesday
It is unacceptable that the European Commission keeps authorising the sale of GMO’s in Europe. These crops are made to resist and increase herbicide use, which is bad for soil health, water quality, ground biodiversity and human and animal health. Instead of facilitating Monsanto’s GMO’s and toxic herbicides, the EU should drastically reduce the use of pesticides and stimulate healthy, GMO-free production within planetary boundaries.

Strengthening children’s rights in the EU - 35th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
Debate: Thursday
Vote: Aucun
On the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we wish to reaffirm our commitment to the comprehensive protection of children, with special remembrance for all the children who have been killed in Palestine and who are victims of a planned genocide. It is also important to remember that migrant children arriving at the external borders of the EU have the right to be treated by the public administration in accordance with their vulnerable condition; this unfortunately does not happen due to lack of resources and the effect of European migration and asylum policies that victimise them doubly in their condition of migrant and child.
