GUE/NGL MEPs are arriving in Athens this evening ahead of a two-day conference where they will debate the political situation in Greece amongst other pressing political matters.

Tomorrow (Thursday 20 February) will see discussion on the economic crisis and democratic challenges, unemployment (in particular youth unemployment), workers' rights and inherent rights (social security, health and pensions), and housing rights.

On Friday the MEPs and guest speakers will turn their attention to the economic and social situation in Greece and how to counter the Troika.

The event will take place in the European Parliament Information Office of Athens (8, Leof. Amalias – GR-105 57).
