GUE/NGL strongly condemns the decision of the Turkish authorities to prevent the Communist Party of Turkey to run in the country’s general election on 24 June.

GUE/NGL reaffirms the demand for an end to repressive and anti-democratic measures in Turkey. We stand in solidarity with the Turkish communists, with other democratic and progressive forces and with their struggle to defend the rights and aspirations of workers and the Turkish people.
