Italian GUE/NGL MEP Eleonora Forenza comments following a plenary vote today on the steel sector in the EU:

“With our work on this resolution, we, GUE/NGL MEPs, wanted to highlight our commitment towards the re-launch of the steel sector in Europe.

“For us, this means ensuring the rights of workers and the fight against social and environmental dumping. We also consider it crucial to make sure that environmental disasters such as Taranto will never be repeated: this is why we consider the EU's efforts insufficient.”
